One hot night in rural Bangladesh, all the villagers were huddled around a TV set---the blue light flickering on their faces. Curious, I asked their favorite programs. They responded KOJAK and DALLAS and wondered why I was not carrying a gun.

That encounter changed my childhood vow, to document our global diversity - before everyone in the world wore blue jeans, into a lifelong mission. I saw the necessity to counter violent and consumer-driven American programming with positive role models. I wanted to use television to spur social change, to inspire and empower people to find creative solutions to global problems.

Now 25 years, 60 films, and 113 episodes of CAPTAIN PLANET later, I am focusing on distribution for all films that communicate positive messages cross culturally. Beyond the 5,000 TV stations worldwide that already downlink our satellite feeds, we are exploring new collaborations for outreach and non-profit educational use.

Daunting and uncharted waters!

As Captain Planet says, "By our powers combined", we can make a better world. The actions of all People Count! Let us serve the planet well - and get on with it.
