I can't think of a greater time to be on this lovely, verdant, experiment of a planet. Particularly now, when she needs us so badly to wake up at the wheel and steer our careening craziness off the rocks. It's an unusually dynamic time here, rich with creative possibilities. We simply have to choose which direction to go. Very simple. I've a mantra that was taught to me some time back. "If it's painful, go the other way. If it's joyful, do more of it." I want to watch us choose to grab back the reins and take responsibility for our presence here and stop destroying things.
Will Rogers used to say, "Listen, if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging." We really do have the power to stop this madness. And yes, I'm betting we will individually, in our own exquisitely unique ways, each step up to the plate and do what it takes to make this difference. What an honor it is to be here in service of that difference.
