I plan to not let myself forget that life is a gift from God, for sharing, not some ego driven journey that is more about me than anything else. I want a life where my spirit, connected to God's spirit, says "Well done," where when I fall from that grace, always find my way back.
I've always had a special interest in film and television and recognized early on that mass media is technology that could be better used for social good. Early on I also recognized that to be a tall order. To fill it requires not only media experience but also community work and the ability to educate and entertain. So I went out and got that range of experience.
Top Down and Bottoms Up is the culmination of my experience in film, television, politics, public policy, media training, education, community organizing and management. Top Down visions a local, national and global media network with television and Internet links that focuses on the mind, body, sprit and economics for social good. Bottoms Up is training individuals and communities to be more audio/visually literate so that they use the media for social good and not get misused by it.
Right now, I'm in production on two animated series with live action. Health Nuts weighs the benefits of alternative versus modern medicine in combating common illnesses like asthma. Stash characters take care of business making and managing money with a social conscience.
Years ago, someone that I had just met (one of those people with an infectious, calm spirit) asked me, "When you look back on your life what do you want to have done to feel it was a success?" From somewhere, without thought I answered, "I want to make feature films that have something to say and that people want to watch." Now I want that and more.
