Spartacus Media - Portrait Project

Fortunately, we have our plans, but then life has a way of making decisions and either gently prodding or firmly pushing us in directions that aren't always planned, which is what makes life both wild and precious. So for me ,it is less what I plan and more the description of who I am and how I want to try to lead my life.

I want to be a kind and giving person and hope to make each daily interaction a chance to hear a story and extend a kind touch or a warm exchange. I most love the fact that, in this life, I get to be a father, a role central to me and what makes my life most precious at its core.

In my work life, I want to create media that provides an opportunity to tell and hear life stories -- to give voice to life's loves, losses and daily wild and precious moments. Stories that take us out of our lives and bring us back with a new appreciation of the world, both the one we know and live in and the many we don't know. I want to give voice to stories that find our common bonds rather than underscore our differences. I want to ensure that we continue to hear new music, new voices and new sounds in media. I believe that we need to ensure that some bits of the broadcast spectrum maintain the original intent of the grant of ownership of media… that it serves a public purpose and common good. I think some portion of our media, like forests, beaches and open spaces, needs to be retained as a public space.

I am, each day, so thrilled that I get to lead this wild and precious life.
